Week 16, Day 109 - Tile and Stairs!

So this week has been all about tile floors, wood floors, trim, and painting. The cabinet folks have the countertop on the way, Larry the carpet guy was out to measure and the carpet is ordered, Ryan the painter is working on the painting, and Scott the painter/trimmer did the upstairs trim and is now laboring away on the stairs. I just marvel at the work that Wallman Homes' Contractors do! They are all such nice people and so helpful and do such great work!

Tim and I have been working on the tile floors, for which Tim gets most of the credit as he works much faster than I do. I ended up cutting most of the tile to fit, while Tim was putting it all down.

Also, it's worth noting at this point in the process that we are still on schedule for a move in date of 2/13 - that's 125 days after the bulldozer first started on the driveway! Who gets a house done in 4 months?!? Wallman Homes, that's who! And the quality of work has just been amazing.

Scott is doing a masterful job!

I am so enjoying the ability to follow along! We are about to add a 2 1/2 story addition to our house (awaiting final permits), and it's been ispiring to watch your progress. I am amazed at the speed and of course the quality is beautiful! Thank you for letting us follow along!

Jen and Jim,

Your new home is just beautiful! I haven't looked in awhile and I am having such a good time looking around. I am imagining Gigi and Gav loving all the sun filled rooms for lots of running around and laughter!

The house is really coming together. LOVE all of the arches and curves. It is such a graceful addition. Our house also has high ceilings and arched doorways on the first floor and I absolutely love it.
Your tile work looks great! Everyone has been so busy. I am SO thrilled that your house is finally coming together and you are so close to your move-in date. With all that you have been through to get this house to become a reality, you all certainly deserve to have such a beautiful, quality home with a quick timeline.
Thanks for keeping us updated on the progress. I'm looking forward to the move-in photos and finally the first photo of the four of you ready to walk into YOUR NEW house for the first time. HOORAY - it's not too far away!!!!!
Congrats again

Our "Scrapbook"

I've never been proficient at scrapbooking, but I wanted a way of capturing the building of our new home. A blog is the perfect way for two "techies" to accomplish the artistry of capturing memories.

We moved from the Midwest to the East Coast in October 2008. We found our building site in November 2008, and broke ground in October 2009.
